Millbrook is New Zealand's leading golf resort, set in spectacular surroundings just outside Arrowtown, not far from New Zealand's premier South Island tourism destination, Queenstown. Since 2005, the resort has had a major land development programme underway and has been steadily expanding its impressive premium real estate offering.
Signal Management Group has managed Millbrook's land development programme. Signal is responsible for all aspects of the project, including planning and statutory approvals, management of infrastructure design, project financial management, procurement and tendering, and management of construction.
Stage 1, completed in 2008, provided 59 new home sites and a complete new 9 hole golf course extension, (the 'Coronet Nine') to the existing 18 hole championship course. Subsequent stages have added a further 60 home sites. The project has involved 50km of underground water and drainage pipework, several kilometers of new road and movement of around 500,000 cubic meters of earth to form the house platforms, roading and golf course.
Tens of thousands of tonnes of rock have been brought in from Millbrook's own quarry to form the resort's trademark stone retaining walls. Stage 1 involved eight separate resource consents, covered over 100 hectares and involved over 30 contractors and suppliers - at the time it was one of the largest construction sites in the Wakatipu basin.
Seven consecutive stages of development followed Stage One with the completion of the Mill Farm project in 2020. The Mill Farm project added a further 42 premium home sites and a further full 9 holes of championship golf, providing the resort with two full 18 hole courses.
