Gore District Council Office Building

Gore District Council staff recently celebrated moving into their new office building.   The new building features open plan office space over two floors, an extension over the existing southern carpark, seven meeting rooms and a customer-friendly reception area.  The structure of the existing building was earthquake strengthened and asbestos was removed.  The building is 210m2 larger than the original offices and accommodates 45 staff over two floors. The council chamber remained in the same space but had a complete overhaul, with new audio-visual equipment.

Council human resources manager Susan Jones said staff were looking forward to moving in.  “We’ve had really positive feedback from them, and they’re really excited about the move. When you think back to what the old building was like, it’s amazing to have all of this.’’

Signal was the council’s project and construction manager for the development.  Signal has had a long relationship with the Gore District Council going back to the construction of the Gore Aquatic Centre nearly 20 years ago.  Signal’s integrated project and construction management project delivery methodology allowed the Council to ensure that a significant amount of work was carried out by local firms.
