Signal has continued its long-standing relationship with Gore District Council in leading the council’s library development project, following the successful completion of the council’s new revamped office building.

Opened in March 2023 at a cost of $7.7 million, the James Cumming Community Centre and Library is housed in an existing two-storey council building that was completely gutted, strengthened, and converted into a modern state-of-the-art library and community centre. The Government was a major funder of the redevelopment, contributing $3 million from its Shovel Ready scheme. The project also received $958,000 from Mataura Valley Milk.

Signal was the council’s project and construction manager for the development, leading the design and construction from the project’s inception.

Signal has had a long relationship with the Gore District Council since construction of the Gore Aquatic Centre nearly 20 years ago.  Signal’s integrated project and construction management project delivery methodology allowed the Council to ensure that a significant amount of work on the project was carried out by local firms.
